Napa to Sonoma:
A Food & Wine
Lover's Heaven

6 Days  ·  California Wine Country

There are trips you take, and then there are trips that change how you think about the word "indulgence." This six-day journey through Napa Valley and Sonoma County is firmly in the second category — and it's one of my absolute favorites to put together for clients who want something that feels deeply personal rather than off-the-shelf.

If you've ever daydreamed about cycling through sun-drenched vineyards with a gourmet picnic waiting at the next bend, or sitting down to a private wine tasting while a winemaker walks you through the philosophy behind every bottle — this is that trip. Designed for couples, this itinerary moves at exactly the right pace: unhurried enough to actually taste where you are, and rich enough that you'll be talking about it for years.

Here's how it unfolds.

1
Day

Arrival in Wine Country

Your journey begins at San Francisco International, where a private luxury SUV is waiting to whisk you directly to Napa Valley. No shuttles, no shared vans — just a seamless arrival so the relaxation starts the moment you land. The rest of the afternoon is yours: settle in, breathe it all in, and let the unhurried pace of wine country start to work its magic.

2
Day

Classic Napa Wine Country

This is the day Napa earns its reputation. Your private chauffeur takes you to three of the valley's most celebrated wineries — each with a private tour or tasting experience, so you never feel like you're part of a crowd. One stop includes a gourmet Napa-style picnic lunch, paired with estate wines and a view that makes you forget the rest of the world exists. The evening? A reservation at one of Napa's Michelin-starred restaurants. Yes, really.

3
Day

A Cooking Adventure

The morning is yours — sleep in, take a walk, order room service without guilt. In the afternoon, you'll join a hands-on cooking class led by a chef trained under French master chefs. Using fresh, local ingredients — think steak, figs, kale, seasonal fruits — you'll create gourmet dishes you can actually recreate at home. (I love this day. It's the one clients always mention first when they call to say thank you.)

4
Day

Napa to Sonoma — The Artisan Trail

You transfer to Sonoma Valley today, and the pace shifts beautifully. The afternoon is a proper culinary deep-dive: artisanal cheese tasting at a family-run farm, a catered lunch, a tour of Heidrun Meadery (where some of California's most remarkable honey wine is made), and — my personal favorite detail — a stop at an oyster farm where you'll pull incredibly fresh oysters right from the shells. It's the kind of afternoon that makes you feel like a local.

5
Day

Biking Sonoma

This is the day everyone secretly wonders about and then loves beyond all expectation. After getting fitted to comfortable hybrid bikes, you and your private guide pedal through gently rolling hills and lush vineyards, stopping at two Sonoma wineries for tastings — including some truly stunning Pinots, customized to your palate. A beautifully crafted gourmet picnic waits mid-ride. You'll be back around 4pm, pleasantly tired and thoroughly happy.

6
Day

Departure

A private luxury SUV returns you to SFO in time for your flight home. Which, let's be honest, you probably won't be ready for — but that's the sign of a trip done right.

Every detail was perfect. We completely turned off our brains and just let ourselves be swept away — which is exactly what we needed. We didn't have to think about a single thing the entire trip. — Client Testimonial

I design this as a fully independent travel experience — no group tours, no rigid schedules, no strangers at the tasting table. Everything is arranged in advance, from your private transfers to your winery reservations to your dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant. The accommodations are chosen specifically to complement each region:

Solage

Napa Valley  ·  Nights 1–3

A fresh, modern take on wine country sophistication — think Napa's quaint charm with genuinely luxurious edges.

Farmhouse Inn

Sonoma Valley  ·  Nights 4–5

A beloved wine country inn, restaurant, and spa nestled in the Russian River Valley — intimate, beautiful, and completely its own thing.

This itinerary is designed for couples who love to eat well, drink curiously, and experience places the way the locals do — with access and intimacy that you simply can't get on your own. It works beautifully as a romantic getaway, a milestone anniversary trip, or an indulgent escape for two people who have been promising each other "a real trip" for too long.

Travel style: Romance & Food + Drink. Duration: 6 days, 5 nights. Availability is limited by nature — private experiences book up, and the best properties don't wait.
